HAVOCHATE Begin Recording New Album
March 8, 2004HAVOCHATE have entered the studio to begin recording their second album — the group's first to feature the vocals of new frontman Tim Bouchee.
Bouchee was brought into the fold last year after the departure of vocalist Jon Mallek, and made his live debut with the band when they played several shows with OVERKILL in September.
"The guy has such an amazing voice," said guitarist Freddy Ordine. "He can do it all, from scream to sing. Our writing styles are a perfect fit and Tim has brought so much to the table."
The addition of such a versatile singer has helped the band — Ordine, guitarist Mario Rodriguez, bassist Dave Ludwig, and drummer Ovie Rodriguez — as they grows and builds upon their foundation as a thrash band.
"Having a wide range of vocal abilities, we were able to take HAVOCHATE's music to new levels," Bouchee said. "The band's sound has evolved from pure thrash to wide ranging melodic metal that all listeners will enjoy. The heavy sound is still as brutal as ever but now has a twist of melody and memorable hooks."
Added Ordine: "Tim sings some of the most killer melodies and hooks we have ever written. Mario and I are pushing the dual guitar envelope further than ever, harmonizing eight-finger tap patterns and just ripping it up all over the place. Ovie and Dave are like one big wrecking ball of rhythm."
HAVOCHATE will debut some of their new material when they play at March Metal Meltdown at the Cricket Club in Irvington, N.J., on Friday, March 12.
